God's Hooligans

By Angela Townsend

They are free-roaming and feral.

They're in the ten-items-or-less line with forty items.

They're shrieking on the internet with fears and opinions.

They're filling your inbox and holding up empty cups.

They work with you and work against you and work your last nerve.

They save the day and sing like sparrows and build nests for smaller beasts.

They're jam-faced and impulsive and irrevocably loved.
