A conversation with the Father

Like microwaved brie:

Better than it should have been

Melting and warm

Spread over split ciabatta

In the morning — brought to life

At the briefest touch

By a mechanism I don’t understand

And inspiring a subtle desire

For just a sip of the pinot noir

Nearly finished in the fridge

Unorthodox but forgiven;
